Ath'Ril was once the premier port city of an Eladrin empire that occupied much of eastern Ariphora. In its last decades, the empire grew increasingly isolationist and decadent, until it finally collapsed about a century ago. Since that collapse, Ath'Ril has become a free city (still ruled by Eladrin) and has opened up to the world, which has led to an explosion of commercial opportunity and crime as the city tries to recapture some of its former glory.
